Forensic pathology can be dated back to 1959 (USA) but pathology can date back to the Islamic Golden Age (8th -13th centuries) and in Western Europe during 1442-1600.

In today’s time autopsies are a familiar use of medicine and science, but before 2000 there wasn’t much knowledge on a proper autopsy. Hippocrates was a Greek physician who was first to work on the pathology and anatomy of the human spinal chord, he was also the founder of scientific medicine. Herophilus and Erasistratus started a base of anatomy giving Galen an interest in studying anatomy. Pathology was a major hit way back to the late 900 to the early 1000 in the Muslim religion. Avenzoar an Arabian physician who used dissections to discover that scabies is caused by a parasite. The first physician to use anatomic dissection was an Italian physician named Antonio Benivieni in the fifteenth century and he also introduced necropsy to the medical field. Carl Rokitansky who lived in the 1804-1874, dying at the age of 74, he had preformed 20 000 autopsies and helped 60 000 in his 74 years of life.
